CBSE Board Exams

Board Exams - 10th

The Xth and XIIth CBSE Board Papers- As parents we spend money on our kids education - fees, uniforms, books, and expenses in terns of compulsory participation in activities as per CBSE norms. CBSE mentions that they follow NCERT books and then along with those books we are made to buy other supporting books. In Schools the teachers can hardly finish the NCERT syllabus, so when will they complete these other books? Hence they ask the kids to finish the same at home. So again as parents we send our kids to various classes and pay heavy tution fees in order to have these books completed. These private tution can't really complete the vast Syllabus and so they inturn suggest that kids should spent atlas 3-4 hours self studying .. Then for exam preparation invest time and money in buying 5-10 years old question paper...make the kids solve them.. And then when the board exam comes the questions asked are TRICKY and TWISTED, the paper is LENGTHY and also some question are asked from that section of NCERT book which mentions "optional exercises not meant for examination" ..

Of course there are BRILLIANT kids who will be FUTURE EINSTEIN probably so these kids can attempt, but what about others? We say every child is unique so some child might be good in some subject and weak in some.. Why can't we have a paper that will stick to syllabus? Do ask Hard questions but from the syllabus specified by the norms... Why can't we have a paper that a normal child can solve in 3 hrs ?

If you want to select the best out of best out of best , then post board exams conduct other set of exams for the brilliant kids to decide the best amongst them.

Its heart breaking as a parent to see kids nervous as they did not do well in papers inspite of all the efforts put in both by the child and the parent.
